Mohanna Abdhou, 20, was in Brent, north west London, when she was fatally shot by two men.
A young woman was murdered by gunmen riding bicycles as she enjoyed an evening out with friends.
Mohanna Abdhou, 20, was in Brent, north west London, when she was fatally shot by two men in a ‘cowardly attack’.
The pair fired a number of times at the women and sadly Ms Abdhou died at the scene from her injuries, on Friday night.
A post-mortem examination took place at Northwick Park Hospital on Saturday, and gave the cause of death as a single gunshot wound.
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC), led by Detective Chief Inspector Andy Partridge are now investigating.
Inquiries have established that Montana and her friends were approached by two males on bicycles. A firearm was discharged towards the group and Ms Abdhou was shot.
The suspect then fled the scene. Detectives have since launched a murder investigation.
DCI Andy Partridge said: ‘Montana was enjoying an evening out with a number of female friends and while they were all standing near Dickens House two males on bicycles approached them.
‘We believe a number of shots were aimed at the group; sadly Montana was shot and died from her injuries at the scene.
‘It was still daylight when this attack took place and the location is very near a children’s playground. This was a cowardly attack on a young woman who was out enjoying the warm weather in the company of her friends.
‘The local community are clearly shocked by what has happened and a number of witnesses have come forward to assist the investigation.
‘I believe the public can help further and would appeal for anyone who knows anything about this attack and those responsible for it to come forward and tell me and my officers what happened.
Police have called the murder of Ms Abdhou in north London a ‘cowardly attack’.
‘The two suspects have both been described as medium build, dressed all in dark clothing and having their faces covered to hide their identities; this fact alone would have made them stand out on such a warm evening.
‘If you remember anything, no matter how small please do not hesitate in contacting us immediately.’
Residents have spoken of their shock on social media at the latest in violent crimes to plague the area.
One man posted three pictures to Facebook, showing stunned residents at the scene in the minutes after the incident.
Writing online, he said: ‘I don’t know what happened but I’m over here checking my friend and (I) heard the shots.
‘I’ve heard (the woman) died after that I went back inside, I’ve had enough of seeing and hearing this for real, I don’t know what is up with the kids today she was only 21.’
In response, a woman wrote: ‘I know, it’s just getting worse. I’m scared to let my 13-year-old out with friends. It’s shouldn’t be like this at all.’
