A GIRL of eight is fighting for life after allegedly being stabbed as she slept by a woman who thought the child was possessed by Jesus.
It’s claimed the youngster was in bed when she was knifed in the heart at a posh pad in Stockbridge, Edinburgh.

She suffered multiple injuries in the bloodbath and is critically ill in hospital.
A source said: “It’s really touch and go. This was an awful incident.
“It’s claimed the woman thought the girl was possessed by Jesus.
“There was lots of blood in the house as the woman also suffered some injuries.
“They were taken to separate hospitals for treatment.”
It’s believed the woman, 48, who can’t be named, was also being treated for blade wounds last night as police launched a probe into the horror.

A lone cop stood guard at the townhouse as detectives carried out door-to-door enquiries.
Forensic officers in white protective clothing were also at the scene.
One shocked neighbour, who asked not to be named, described how cop cars and ambulances flooded the quiet street early yesterday morning.
She said “I was in bed at around 2am when I heard vehicles outside.
“I got up and looked out the window and saw the street full of police cars and an ambulance.
“The top of the road was closed off. Today the police are still standing outside the house and detectives are going round speaking to locals.”
Last night cops confirmed a woman has been reported to the fiscal.
A spokesman said: “Officers in Edinburgh were called to an address where an eight-year-old girl was found with serious injuries.
“She was taken to the city’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children, where she remains in a critical condition. Specialist detectives are supporting her family.
“A 48-year-old woman was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after also being found seriously injured at the address.
“She has now been reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with this incident.”
