Clearly the survey was poorly structured and assumed British Muslims interpret the words terrorism, patriotism and condemnation in the same manner as a native British person would. The survey failed to first assess their view on these words.
The survey profess that 90% of Muslims ‘condemn’ terrorism while other parts of the survey reveal that Muslims reject the idea of extremist thoughts, and will not report suspected terrorism and refuse to acknowledge that a terrorist act against non-Muslims in America on 9/11 was terrorism.
It’s a well known fact that Jihad in the Muslim world is viewed as an act of heroism, while in the West it is an act of militant violence. The neglect to structure the survey to reflect this cultural attitude, creates a polarity from the Muslims surveyed.
