Dubai: Newlywed Muslim divorces wife within days after seeing her without makeup

Husband divorces his wife days after marrying her because he saw her without make-up for the first time

  • The Arab bride, 28, was dumped by her 34-year-old husband after a swim
  • Seawater at Al Mamzar Beach in Dubai washed away the wife’s make-up
  • The husband claimed he could not even recognise the bare face of his wife
  • He immediately divorced her saying she had deceived him with cosmetics

A husband has divorced his wife just days after they tied the knot because he saw her without make-up for the first time.

The Arab bride, 28, was given the elbow by her former husband accused of deceiving him by using so many cosmetics and fake eyelashes.

The unidentified newlyweds went for a leisurely swim in the sea at Al Mamzar Beach in Dubai, but when the water washed away her make-up the 34-year-old man was said to have not been able to recognise her.

Dr Abdul Aziz Asaf, a consultant psychologist, has been working with the woman to help her overcome the divorce.

‘The groom immediately divorced his bride and refused any attempt to reunite them again,’ he told Gulf News.

The couple had been engaged for six months before the wedding, and the doctor said the husband did not think his wife looked as pretty as before their special day.

The bride wore artificial eyelashes and had undergone cosmetic surgeries before the marriage, which she had intended to reveal to her partner.

  1. “which she had intended to reveal to her partner”

LOL. After, of course, he had tied the knot. Was it a deal-breaker or not? If not, why not tell him before? Entertainingly, it slipped her mind just how straightforward it is for a man to procure a divorce in Islam.
