Two women including a mother pushing her baby in a pram are ‘stabbed in the back within 20 minutes of each other by female knife attacker’
- Mother in her 30s attacked outside shopping complex in Bradford today
- Another woman in her 50s found by police after attack 20 minutes before
- A 52-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent
- West Yorkshire Police believe that the two stabbings could be linked
Two women including a mother pushing her baby in a pram were stabbed in the back within 20 minutes of each other, it has been reported.
The mother, in her 30s, was attacked in the car park of a shopping centre complex in Frizinghall, Bradford, at around 10.10am today – just 20 minutes after another woman was targeted.
Police officers had also found a woman in her 50s, who had suffered a single stab wound to her back, in the Manningham area, just after 9.50am.
The mother was taken to hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life threatening. However, the status of the other victim is not known.
Officers have arrested a 52-year-old woman on suspicion of wounding with intent, as well as recovering a knife, and now believe the two attacks could be linked.
Saj Khan, deputy manager of the Sainsbury’s Local store in the Parkside Centre, said he heard ‘screaming’ as he was bringing in a delivery from a lorry in the car park.
‘I couldn’t see because the wagon was in front of me, but I heard screaming and thought what’s going on?
‘I saw a crowd of people around the woman, and she had a pram with her baby in, which is only three or four months old.
‘I took the phone off her and spoke to paramedics to give them directions. I brought the pram and the baby inside the shop. I know her, she’s a regular customer.
‘I only saw the other woman from a distance. She didn’t run off at first, she was just walking normally like nothing had happened.
‘She had disappeared by the time the police arrived, but people have said she was tasered further down the road and then caught.
‘She (the victim) is a really bubbly type and gets on with everyone. She is a regular face in the shop, she had three kids, two who are in school, and the baby she was with today.
‘Her father came on to get the baby and said the wound was not deep, but she was going to hospital to get checked out.
‘I just hope she’s alright, it was a real shock.
‘She comes in here all the time and I have no idea why someone would want to stab her.
‘I asked her if she knew the other woman, and she said no.’
