Dozens of Isis fighters have allegedly been poisoned by their chefs with several dead and many more injured.
Around 10 militants are believed to have died as a result of the poisoning.
They were working with the Syrian Free Army when they contaminated lunches served to fighters.
The army cooks behind the plot have now left Deir al-Zour with their families with the help of the rebels, according to al-Arabiya.
The poisoning happened at Fath El-Sahel camp where nearly 1,200 Islamic State fighters are based.
Nearly 20 are believed to have been taken to nearby field hospitals.
